Home, Sweet Home

Things are finally happening on the piece of dirt Dave and I like to call Chez Nous. No longer are the builders standing around sucking air through their teeth and proclaiming the weather to be of not a high enough quality to commence building works.

I got the first hint last week. When we went for our weekly jaunt into "t'country", past our land. We spied a sign stating that 'trespassers will be slapped' (I can't actually remember what was said. I was too busy jumping up and down about the fact we had a REAL sign on our land!).

Hmmm, seems someone got a teensy bit ahead of himselves when it came to the ordering of 'stuff' though. On closer inspection we discovered that our window frames had also been delivered. We need foundations, sewage and drains and walls before we can start thinking about the bloody windows? Surely?

Anyway, a couple of days later a porta loo was erected ( a sure sign?) and then the following day all these plastic tube things appeared out of the ground...

We've got somewhere for our bath water to go! Yippee. I have never been so excited to see sewage pipes in my whole life.

...until this week, anyway. This week we have actual concrete down. That means the foundations have been laid and the brickies are queueing up to lay their bricks for us.

Ain't she beautiful?

Looks huge!

I can't see a cellar though.

Where will you keep the wine?

Where will I hide?

You can choose between the spare rooms. A bit like goldilocks!

Wine doesn't need to be cellared in our hoose. It's cellared in the local offy!

Ma, your bedroom is in the middle on the left. That is the biggest spare room with the queen sized bed.

The room at the very front on the left is the second biggest but it'll only have a double bed.

You can sleep in all three spare rooms if you like?

It looks fantastic - JJ and I will visit (although it will take a long time to get there cos I'm a scaredy cat who can't fly!).

Cookie, you can have any room you want, my love. You can have the whole 'wing' if you like!!

We've even got a theatre room! I'm bloody well going up in the world.

Reidski, you're both welcome whenever you like. It's a wee bit nippy here at the moment. 20 degrees today! Best avoid us between june and october..

We won't have a pool either! The budget may stretch to an inflatable paddling pool?

You could even use this

to create your own Ibiza-styley foam party. Just don't wear your fave blue trousers and high heels this time eh?
